Corporate, social and environmental responsibility is at the heart of Richmond’s operations. We maintain an outlook that encourages the fulfilment of environmental objectives and is continually conscious of its potential environmental impact.
To meet the current environmental challenges, we have developed a Quality and Environmental manual to define the policy and the requirements of ISO 14001. To assist clients with added value Richmond have developed the response range that contributes 17 credits towards the code for sustainable homes.
As a member of The Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP) Richmond address all areas of purchasing and procurement right through to end of product life, including social, ethical and employment concerns as well as waste, energy and emissions.
At the heart of Richmond’s company ethos is a commitment to social responsibility and local business values. Over the years we have successfully engaged in a number of contracts, working directly with Social Enterprises and Supported Businesses, to help build communities and provide improvements in human and environmental well-being. These partnerships support Richmond’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy whilst enabling best value products and services to be delivered. Richmond’s model focuses on creating local employment for both disabled people and the long term unemployed. Although a nationwide supplier, this focus allows Richmond to remain committed to maintaining local business values and help to build communities. The impact of our initiatives on the community is multifold, not only delivering financial benefits for the individual and the local economy but most importantly the impact on the individual is immeasurable in terms of positive self-esteem and personal development.

This includes FIRA Gold, the highest level achievable for kitchen cabinet construction, workmanship and fitness for heavy domestic use. Richmond is a member of the Forest Stewardship Council (R) FSC-C018804. ISOQAR BS EN ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally recognised standard that provides assurance that Richmond’s products and services satisfy specific quality requirements demonstrating the company’s commitment to delivering quality products and services. Conformance to the highly regarded environmental standard, BS EN ISO 14001:2004, illustrates the emphasis Richmond places on its environmental management system.
