At Richmond we extend our commitment to building communities to the charity work we undertake.
We are committed to helping the local community by working together with charities that offer great benefits to both individuals and groups in the local area.
Here are some examples of the work we have done.
Richmond took part and made a donation to the Keepmoat Charity Golf Day. The day was a superb success with 22 teams playing the notorious Welsh National Golf Course at the Vale Hotel in a bid to raise £3,000. The event in fact more than doubled its target and raised £6,467 for Ty Hafan Hospice, which cares for children with life limiting illnesses in Wales. Please go to their website for more information. Meadow Prospect is a charitable arm of RCT Homes Wales that delivers regeneration projects. Richmond were a key supporting partner to one of these projects to get Rhydyfelin Football Club’s derelict pavilion back into use not only for football but also to support other community events. Richmond designed and donated a kitchen for the project. The impact of such initiatives on the community is multi-fold. The project itself not only generated investment from local businesses of up to £60,000 but Improved local facilities and services, raised aspirations and confidence among the local community, increased local participation, changed attitudes and triggered as a catalyst for social change.
Jewson took part in a walk up The Annandale Way to raise money for Believe in Children Barnardo’s. Richmond donated £2,000 to support Jewson in this charity walk.
Richmond donated £1000 towards our partner Bolton at Home Stars of the Community Awards. The awards give the local community the opportunity to nominate special people who have made a difference or gone that extra mile so they can be recognised and rewarded for their efforts. The awards include categories such as sparkling environment star, outstanding achievement star, healthy community star and taking a stand star.
Other projects include donating a kitchen to the television programme DIY SOS where Nick Knowles and the team issue a call to arms and recruit friends, family and local trades to help transform the homes of families across Britain.
